Join a discussion of Dr Sally Frances Low’s recently published book. Along with the author, Dr Eng Netra, Executive Director, CDRI, Mr Keo Duong, Lecturer in history, RUPP, and Ms Ros Sokunthy (LLB), Cambodia Coordinator for Focus on the Global South, will consider questions such as: What was the role of law in colonial rule? How did Cambodia’s laws and courts change under the French? How did Cambodians influence French legal reforms? What are the lessons for today? Dr Helen Jarvis will facilitate the discussion. 

Sally Low holds a doctorate in legal history from the University of Melbourne and has worked extensively in Cambodia and Southeast Asia. Her book, Colonial Law Making: Cambodia Under the French, was published by the National University of Singapore Press in 2024.
