FOSTERING COMMUNITY

Porto Communication Higher Education Staff Week

 

ABOUT THE EVENT

Fostering Community through integration and communication is fundamental to promoting a cohesive community, encouraging the exchange of ideas and experiences for a world interconnected by shared values. 

This staff week focuses on the following main topics:
  • The University as a hub: collaborative communication for migrant support services;
  • Communication strategies for welcoming and integrating international students;
  • Exploring the interplay between business and university;
  • The role of communication and employer branding;
  • Accessibility and digital inclusion.
 

REGISTRATION

Deadline for registration: 5 April 2024

STAFF WEEK FEE: € 350  (registration payment and international payment fees are not included and depend on the origin of each participant - around 25€/30€).
After the registration, please send proof of payment to: anap@fe.up.pt

The fee includes:

  • Plenary Sessions and Workshops;

  • Job Shadowing

  • Visit the University Facilities & Services;

  • FEUP Campus Tour;

  • 4 Lunchs

  • Coffee Breaks;

  • 1 Welcome drink;

  • 2 Dinners;

  • 1 Walking tour;

  • Certificate of attendance.

Traveling and accommodation costs will be covered by the participants, although the activity is eligible for Erasmus+ funding.

Workshops

Accessibility and digital inclusion
Vitor Carvalho – Vítor Carvalho works in the Development and Innovation Unit, Information Systems area, at UPdigital and is a Guest Assistant at the Faculty of Engineering of the U.Porto.

Enhancing community connections through volunteer projects

na Bailão – GASPORTO (Founded in 2002, is an NGDO − Non-Governmental Organization for Development − guided by the motto “We are Together”. With the objectives of promoting social integration, personal training and qualification, and the involvement of society in human development, GASPORTO operates in a multidisciplinary way in areas such as sociocultural support and dynamization, health, and education.)

Job Shadowing

Lionesa Business Hub (20 max. participants) FULL

Based in Porto, Natixis Center of Expertise's mission is to transform traditional banking by developing innovative solutions for the bank’s business, operations, and work culture worldwide, as a key driver of the company’s culture of agility and innovation: a perfect fit in Portuguese labour culture.
With 1,900 employees, from more than 30 nationalities, Natixis created an innovative concept of a work environment, that promotes collaboration, and socialization and allows employees to travel across four continents and 12 cities, without having to leave the office, called “Villages”.

SOCIAL PROGRAM - AVEIRO

The only social program not included in the fee is the Full-day Tour to Aveiro, which you can register for at the same time as you register for the Staff Week. 

SOCIAL PROGRAM FEE – 80€ (International payment fees are not included and depend on the origin of each participant). 
The program only takes place with a minimum of 20 registered participants.
