Edifício Largo do Paço
The building is located in the historic center of Braga and is now one of the city’s most emblematic buildings, an unmistakable testimony to the power and importance that archbishops held in Braga.
This monument, classified as a property of public interest since 1967, currently consists of three main bodies: a medieval one, to the north, facing the Santa Bárbara Garden; a modern one, to the south, dating from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, with a facade facing Largo do Paço and Rua do Souto; and a Baroque one, to the west, also known as the Paço de D. José de Bragança, facing Praça do Município.
In this context, the Medieval Hall can hold up to 600 people, the Noble Hall up to 150, the Gallery up to 100, and the Interior Garden up to 900.
