The Berlin School is a style of electronic music that emerged in the 1970s.An offshoot of Krautrock, Berlin School was so named because most of its early practitioners were based in West Berlin, Germany. It was shaped by artists such as Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and Manuel Gottsching. Innovative Berlin School recordings were a precursor of ambient music, electronica, new-age and trance.

Musicologist and DJ Nick E. Meta hails from Germany's capital, where he started to produce electronic music in the mid-1980s. Tonight, he'll present the best Berlin tracks from the 1970s and 1980s in our air-conditioned gallery, before his colleague Tommy Schultz - also from Berlin - explores Berlin Techno & Trance from the 1990s until today.
